Starting and Stopping

Starting the software

The best way to operate UserTime is to configure it so it is always running in the background. If you have checked the run when user logs on checkbox in the options screen UserTime will run each time you log in to Windows under the current user account.

NOTE: By default UserTime will not run at login. You need to switch this setting on for each user that you want to monitor.

You can also run UserTime from your start menu. This allows you to start the software manually if it was not started when you logged in.

Running multiple copies

You can not run several copies of UserTime at once in the same user profile.

Stopping the software

Closing the main UserTime window doesn't close the program. It keeps running so it can keep updating the counters you can access it through the icon in the taskbar notification area.

To close the program you need to select exit from either the file menu or the system tray menu. You will be reminded that this will reset all the counters. If an Exit password has been allocated you will be required to enter a password before exiting UserTime.
